Paltan Movie Review

Story: The film ‘Paltan‘ is based on a true story. This incident is between Nathu La pass which is situated on Line of Actual Control between India and China. This is an important strategic  to go between India and Tibet. This incident took place in 1965 when the Rajput Regiment of the Indian Army gave dust to the Chinese army by showing indomitable courage. This incident happened only after 3 years of war between India and China, and China did not have any idea that it could get such a reprieve from the Indian Army.

Review: Director JP Dutta has earlier made many war based patriotic films such as ‘Border’ and ‘LoC Kargil’. The incident that took place on Nathu La near the small shrine started, but after some time it become bigger issue.
This time the Indian army confronts the Chinese army for save Sikkim. This time, Datta has taken both Young and Experienced artists into their film, which is playing the role of Real Heroes which has almost forgotten in history.

Arjun Rampal, Lieutenant Colonel Rai Singh and Sonu Sood have played the characters of Major Bishan Singh well. Besides, other young actors like Harshavardhana Rane and Gurmeet Chaudhary have also given a good performance. Love Sinha also has a good role in the character of Atar Singh, whereas the principle was not something special for Kapoor.
The characters of the Chinese Army soldiers in the film have not performed well. Especially, in some cases, it is strange to say ‘Hindi-chini Bhai Bhai’ by sloganeering and speaking dialog in Hindi is strange.

The film has been shot at real location and seeing Army’s weapons and uniforms, it seems that it is a story of 1965. JP Dutta has written the story and screenplay of this film, which is good but forcibly crooked half-backs backstory makes the film tall and cumbersome. The film does not seem very emotional, but the overall film will not bore you. Good action has been shown in the film and at the end of the film JP Dutta is able to show the victory of the Indian Army with all its spices.
