Jab Harry Met Sejal Review

Jab Harry met sejal is a story too good to seat with a tub of popcorn for 99minutes long. Unlike Imtiaz Alis other films this film was unable to catch the right nerve of the audience. The story starts with Harry aka Harinder Singh Nehra (shah rukh Khan), a Punjabi born and Europe tourist guide by profession who is lonely and seeking for an unknown love meet sejal (Anushka Sharma) a gujarati diamond seller daughter on a trip. The movie starts on a road trip to find Sejals engagement ring which was lost on the trip. The picturesque places (Prague, Budapest etc) and the cinematography was brilliant. The romantic start ended as soon as sejal tries to prove herself as ‘laayak’ roaming around in the streets of the places with no concrete story in it. The movie has a good start but the pace & energy slows down as the movie progresses which made the audience loose their interest and hard to seat after the first half. The movie is only worth watching on the song Hawaaein.

SRK was brilliant as usual in his romance but sejal character is the most confusing female character Shahrukh had ever romanced with. The concept of the person whom you seek is seeking you has been portrayed in the romantic road trip movie in such a manner which the audience failed to find interest. The ending of the story might have been much better which might have saved the movie to be categorized as pakau (The Hindi term of boring disaster movie).

We will give 2 and half review points. We expect more from the director, writer some beautiful movies like Jab We Met, Rockstar, Love Aaj Kal’s Imtiaz Ali. He done pretty well projects in the past that’s that’s why audions want to watch sometime new but we didn’t find anything new in this movie. Songs are good but only for one or two time listen. You don’t want to again and again like JWM, and Rockstar movies. Imtiaz movies known for Songs, solid direction and storyline. But in JHMS he was trying to cash in Badshah Khan’s Romantic image and he lost his own identity what is his formula for a movie.

First Week was not too bad for Jab Harry Met Sejal but second weekend box office report show this movie can’t stand more.

First Week Box Office Collection was around 57.64 crore which has been totally down in second week. 2nd week collection is 2.75 crore only. Which shows it can’t survive more. The Grand total of this one of most awaited movie of Shahruk and Anushka Sharma 60.38 Crore till second week. Lets see how long it can run in front of Akshay Kumar New Releases Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Next Week Shradha Kapoor Haseena Parker.
