Batti Gul Meter Chalu is one of the most famous Indian bollywood drama films. The story of the film has been woven in a small town in Uttarakhand and director Shri Narayan Singh has tried to raise a serious issue in a funny manner. The story is about the wrong bills sent by the power department. In the film, Shahid raises his voice against the thunderstorm.

Shahid Kapoor, lawyer by profession, gets rebellious in the film when his friend (Divyendu Sharma) commits suicide due to government pressure. In fact, the electricity department here sent bill of 1.5 lakh rupees to Divyendu. Whenever he complains when he does in the power department, he can not be listened to one.

He is told that if he does not pay the electricity bill, he can be taken into police custody. Earlier, Akshay Kumar has also made films on such issues. This is the first time that Shahid is making a film about such a case.
