Aamir Khan on Thugs of Hindostan Failure: Feeling Bad We Couldn’t Entertain the Audience

During the interview, on Monday acknowledged the failure of the film and said he takes full responsibility for the Box-Office failure of his film ‘Thugs of Hindostan’.  he said that“Aur jo audience itni expectation se aayi hai meri film dekhne ke liye, I want to apologise to them also. Iss dafa maine unko entertain nahi kar paaya. Koshish humne puri ki thi. Lekin jo log itne expectation se aaye, unhe mazaa nahi aaya. So, I’m feeling very bad that we were not able to entertain them,” he told reporters at the event. In the film Aamir, for the first time shared screen space with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. The film released nationwide on November 8. He said, “We tried our level best but we went wrong somewhere. There is a population among the audience who liked the film and we want to thank them but majority of them didn’t like it. And i want to apologise to the audience for being unable to entertain them. I am feeling very bad.”. The film, which was touted as the biggest Hindi movie of the year, has limped its way to the Rs 150 cr mark in India collection alone. Panned severely by critics and audiences alike for its formulaic story, bogged-down performances and ancient storytelling, the film is struggling big time on the box office.
