Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a person, who is all rounder in Hindi cinema. He has started his career in 1989, by Parinda, as an assistant director and then up to till date, he has directed nine films and produced 13 films. He is also a best writer, editor and music director. He won four national film awards and ten Filmfare Awards, and many for IIFA awards and Zee cine awards, in this journey. He called always, a man of enthusiasm and power and a man of success, in Hindi film industries. One main part, of his fabulous success is that, he is honored by “Padma Shri”, a fourth highest civilian award by, President of India.
A person of struggle Sanjay was from filmy background only. His father, Navin Bhansali was a film maker, but not succeeds in industry and therefore he was in high debt in the market. He was always drunk with alcohol and he destroyed his and family’s life. Sanjay has spent his childhood in a small Chawl of Bhykhalla in Mumbai. His childhood was full of stress and sadness with harmful life. His father died in consumption of high alcohol and then his mother, named Leela has taken up the responsibility of children, to grow up. He is having one sister, called, Bela Segal. He was born in Mumbai on 24th February, 1963. He is a man, who is keeping his mother’s name behind him. Leela is his mother.
Sanjay began his career by doing assistant director work with Director, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and involved in his three films. First film was Parinda, and then he has done, 1942-A Love story and Kareeb. He started his own as a Director from film, Khamoshi: The musical. It was his first film and this film was not success in terms of box office. Then he has started to work in his second film, “Hum dil de chuke sanam”. This film was quite hit on box office. In this film, he has worked with three super stars, Ajay Devgan, Salman Khan and Aishwariya Roy. It was his great success because this film’s premier show was presented by International film festival of India. After the superb success, he started again his best movie, with super stars, Shahrukh khan, Aishwariya Roy and Madhuri Dixit, in “Devdas”. Devdas was also super hit movie in Bollywood and instant after Devdas, he has given a other best film, BLACK, with the super hit acting by Amitabh Bachhan and Rani Mukarji. After the success of this movie, he never had seen back in industry.
He has given, other hit films like, Sawariya in 2007, Rowdy Rathore in 2012 (as a producer), Galiyo ki ras Leela, Ram leela in 2013, and Gabbar is back (as a producer) in 2015, with Akshay Kumar. In 2015 only, he has given a super hit movie, named, “Bajirao Mastani”. This movie has also brake all the records on box office and the name of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s name came on each mouth of Indian cine viewers. Now in 2017, his one more movie is being ready named, “Padmavati”. He is a Producer, Director and writer of this film.
He has also worked in three television shows. In Jalak Dikhla JA and X-factor, he was Judge and for Sarswatichandra, he was producer. Salute to a man of Power and energy.
