He entered in Bollywood by Aditya Chopra’s super hit movie, Dil Wale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, as a assistant director, in 1995. We know about that movie, which was running up to 10-12 years in one cinema house and broken all the records. Then, he has write one story and directed in 1998, and the film was nearby sky, that movie was, Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai. In the first directed film, film got National Film Award with Eight Filmfare Awards and it was super hit most popular in box office, by fantastic work of Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukaraji. Again he directed one movie, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gum, in 2001, with best of the best stars like, Amitabh Bachhan, Hrithik Roshan, Shahruk Khan, Kajol and Kareena. This movie has also broken all the records, block buster movie on box office and won five Filmfare Awards.
In 2003, he makes a step for film making. He produced his own first film, Kal Ho Na Ho with super star, Shahruk Khan. He writes the story of this film also and this film was super duper hit in Hindi Cine World. Film won two National Film Awards with Eight Filmfare Awards. In 2006, he writes one story, directed and produced again a super hit movie, Kabhi Alvida Na Kahena and film won Filmfare award again. In 2009, his produced one more film, Wake up Sid makes more marks and won three Filmfare Awards. We can’t forgot his movies like, My Name is Khan, Agnipath, Student of the Year, Two State, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, OK Janu and in last, Badrinath ki Dulhaniya. More two movies are coming in next some time like, Drive and Razzi.
Karan Johar born on 25th May, 1972 in Mumbai. His father Yash Johar was a reputed film producer. He is Masters in French and he studied in Mumbai only. He started his career in 1989 by Doordarshan Serial, Indradhanush. Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra and Suraj Badjatya are his inspirations. He is a single father of one boy and one girl (TWINCE). For his title of movies, he was hot favorite for word “K” starting movies, but he stopped this practice after watching the “Lage Raho Munna Bhai” movie in 2006. He worked for a television show named “Koffee with Karan”, a celebrity based talk show and also worked in India Got Talent and Zalak Dikhlaja. He was a special invitee in World Economic Forum, two times, in 2007 and 2017 and was also a Jury member for Miss World contest in 2006.
